We had the pleasure of interviewing Remigijus Kiminas, Live Helper Chat's developer. Learn more about the Live Helper Chat project in the interview below:
What is the main goal of the Live Helper Chat application?
Live Helper Chat aims to be one of the best Open Source-Live Support solutions available. It's goal is very simple - give sites and e-commerce owners a fully flexible live support solution, without depending on any third party services, except hosting itself.
What are some Live Helper Chat application features?
Features like XMPP notifications, Co-Browsing, Pro-Active invitations are just the tip of the iceberg; There are many cool things you can do with Live Helper Chat. For advanced usage, it also supports NodeJS, PostgreSQL, Redis, and upcoming versions will have also full XMPP support (ejabberd).
Which projects or companies are using Live Helper Chat? What kind of projects do they use it for?
From what I know, there are sites with over a half million page-views per month using it without any issue. I also know that there are some companies that have over 20 operators using LHC at the same time. LHC itself is very flexible, so it can be extended to meet companies business logic (e.g it integrates tightly with the internal software stack companies are using).
In your opinion, what is the main benefits of having Live Helper Chat in the Bitnami Library?
The main benefit is the simplicity of having LHC running in the cloud in a few minutes. The interesting fact is that I was encouraged to submit Live Helper Chat to Bitnami from the community users themselves- they just wanted to have it running without any hassle.
